Phew! What a relief. Yesterday I set up my blog. Today I could get back into it and even work out how to write a second posting. I think my blog site is looking boring , especially compared with others in the program, so that will probably be the next thing for me to conquer.
Fortunately I have almost finished the activities for week 2 unless I get adventurous.
The 3 blogs we looked at were all different from each other but really not that inspiring. The Powerhouse Museum blog was very dull in appearance. I really liked the pictures in the War Memorial exhibition blog but it was only about one exhibition so has a limited shelf life. The Library of Congress blog is huge. Some entries I read were interesting and others bored me. Now there's a challenge - how to write and maintain an interesting and lively blog that others would want to read on an ongoing basis.

You have highlighted the many different audiences for blogs. That is why we chose the examples for you to look at. We wanted to show technical blogs which really operate as inhouse communication, an exhibition blog which is always going to be temporary and an organisational blog. Each of these has a different audience, a different writing style and a different look. It will always be a challenge to write interesting blog posts whatever blog type they are for.
